The Dress Code has been installed to help prevent any injuries to any member caused by inappropriate attire. 

 

• Proper dance attire must be worn at all times.

 

• You will NOT be permitted to wear socks as a substitution for footwear.

 

• Specialty classes such as Irish (hard shoe), tap and any competitive classes may require more specific guidelines for footwear and clothing.  These additional requirements are hereby left up to the discretion of the teacher for each class.

 

• No jewelry is to be worn at any time: necklaces, rings, watches, bracelets, earrings other than studs and any dangling body jewelry.

 

• No hats are to be worn at any time while participating.

 

• Hair must be tied off the face.

 

• All dancers should refrain from wearing baggy clothing that may interfere with his/her own participation or the participation of any other individual in the class.

 

• No jeans!

 

• If a Brock Dance teacher feels your attire is inappropriate they may ask you to change, remove any jewelry/hats etc. or ask you to refrain from participating

 

• NO CHEWING GUM!

SHOES:

 

No street shoes are permitted in TH 141.

 

Jazz:

§         Proper jazz shoes-split-soled soft jazz shoes, jazz sneakers, or jazz oxfords.

 

Hip Hop:

§         Proper jazz shoes-split-soled soft jazz shoes, or jazz sneakers.

§         Clean, light-soled street/running shoes.

 

Lyrical/Musical Theatre:

§         Proper jazz shoes-split-soled soft jazz shoes, or jazz sneakers.

§         Half soles or foot thongs

§         Character shoes

 

Irish:

§         Irish dance shoes (soft shoe)

§         Irish dance shoes (hard shoe)

§         Proper jazz shoes (soft shoe only).

 

Tap:

§         Proper tap shoes with secure taps.

 

Ballet:

§         Proper ballet shoes

§         Other appropriate soft shoes; jazz or gymnastic slippers

§         NO black soles.

 

Highland:

§         Soft ballet or jazz slipper (no heels)

 

For other unspecified classes please ask your dance instructor.
